Description

No. 78 Marine Parade is a terraced house built around 1825 by Amon Wilds and Charles Augustin Busby. The building is constructed of stucco and has a slate roof. It stands four storeys tall over a basement and features a two-window range. A full-height segmental bay, which consists of one window range, rises through the cornice and parapet. The first-floor verandah retains only its metal concave roof. There is a flat-arched dormer in the gambrel roof that covers the left section of the house, while the roof over the corner range is hidden by a parapet. The entry on the right side is flat-arched, and there are stacks at the party wall. The interior has not been inspected. This house is part of a group that includes Nos 68, 69, and 73-89 Marine Parade, as well as Nos 1-14 Royal Crescent.
