Description
Numbers 1 and 2 are semi-detached houses built around 1850, featuring stucco exteriors and slate roofs, with No. 2 having a turnerised roof. The houses are two storeys over a basement, with dormers on the main block and a three-storey entrance wing set back to the side, designed in the style of an Italianate villa. They have a two-and-a-half window range, with a blank central window shared between the two houses. The main and entrance wings have quoins.
The flat-arched porch includes engaged antae and an entablature, while the doorcase has an overlight and original studded doors, although the upper panels are now glazed on both houses. There is a canted bay at the basement and ground floor, with No. 1 featuring a bracketed balcony and cast-iron railings. A storey band separates the floors, and the first floor of the main wing has flat-arched tripartite windows, while the entrance wing features round-arched windows on the first and second floors, with cast-iron balconettes on the second floor. The eaves are bracketed, and the main block has a hipped roof, while the entrance wing has a pyramidal roof. There is a central stack and an additional stack on the entrance wing of No. 2.
The interior has not been inspected. The property is complemented by low garden walls and square, stuccoed corniced gate piers.
