Description
These are a pair of semi-detached houses, dating from around 1830. They are constructed of stucco with a tiled roof. The houses are three storeys high, with a basement level, and each originally had a two-window front, with one window blank. Giant Doric pilasters emphasize the outer entrance bay and separate the two houses. Steps lead up to a flat-arched entrance, with an overlight and pediment above. The bays extend to ground and first floors, with a segmental shape to Number 7 and a canted shape to Number 8. Number 8 features a first-floor verandah with cast-iron railings and a convex canopy, the canopy retaining anthemion ornaments. A cornice runs around the bays. An attic storey is divided by pilasters. The windows are sash windows with original designs, including those in the basement and attic of Number 8. The roof is hipped, with a stack to the party wall. Number 8 has an additional side entrance at basement level, with pilasters, a wreathed entablature, and a stepped parapet. The interior has not been inspected. Cast-iron railings are present to the steps, and stucco dwarf garden walls stand alongside square, corniced gate piers.
