Description

The barn at Yates Farm is a small threshing barn that has been converted into a playroom. It dates from the early 18th century and is constructed with a timber frame, featuring weatherboarding and an old tiled gabled roof. The barn has a brick plinth and consists of three framed bays, with a midstrey and aisle located on the southeast side. There is a winnowing door on the northeast side, which is fitted with strap hinges. The roof is supported by a queen post structure with clasped purlins, along with straight wing braces and knee braces. The attached stable and cart shed to the south are not considered to be of special interest.
