Description

Allanbay Park is a country house located in parkland, built in the mid-18th century and altered and extended in the late 19th and 20th centuries. The house features stuccoed walls and hipped slate roofs of varying heights.

The building has a rectangular plan with large extensions and a service wing on the northeast side. It stands three storeys tall and is adorned with several brick chimneys that have corniced heads and tall clay pots. The windows are sash style with glazing bars.

The entrance front faces southwest and includes decorative bands at the first and second floors, a moulded cornice, and a plain parapet. The façade has five bays, with a projecting central bay. The centre windows on the first and second floors are framed with moulded architraves and have bracketed sills, while the ground floor features tripartite windows.

On either side of the entrance, there are single-storey, single-bay wings with casement windows set within modified pilasters and entablature. These wings also have corner pilasters that rise through the cornice to a balustraded parapet topped with urn finials. Access to the entrance is via three steps leading up to a six-panel entrance door, which is set within a moulded wooden architrave and a doorcase featuring panelled pilasters, an entablature, and a segmental pediment. The interior has not been inspected.
