Description
The Lodge, located to the north-west of Binfield Lodge, along with an attached outbuilding, is a small group of buildings dating from the late 18th century, with alterations made in the 20th century. The materials used include part brick in Flemish bond, decorative tile hanging, and weatherboard, all topped with hipped and gabled roofs covered in old tiles of varying heights.
The buildings feature an irregular plan and consist of two storeys and a single storey. The house has one chimney with clay pots and an iron weathervane on the roof of the former granary. The house itself has a hipped roof, with the first floor tile-hung and a three-light casement window that includes glazing bars. The ground floor is made of brick and has a sash window with glazing bars and a segmental arched head. To the left, there is a single storey extension under a high pitched roof, which has a 20th-century two-light casement window. Attached to the left is a small barn featuring a recessed, weatherboarded centre section, along with a two-storey section that has a pyramidal roof. An old door with a four-centred head is located between the last two sections. The buildings are included for their group value.
