Description
The Lodge, which now comprises flats, is a late 18th-century building that was altered in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of ashlar stone and features slate roofs behind parapets, along with a moulded projecting cornice. The structure has a three-storey central section flanked by two-storey wings. The central part has three tripartite sash windows, with the left window blocked and the outer lights on the right also blocked, while the remaining windows have been replaced with large panes. There is a plat band on the wings and a central panelled door with a modern porch. At the rear and to the right, there are extensions that were formerly stables, a coach house, and outbuildings. It is believed that the building was originally designed as a hunting lodge, or more likely as a lodge for Field End.
