Description

Boudreaux Lodge, formerly known as Whitton Lodge Farm, is a house dating from the late 18th century, built of red brick with pantile and slate roofs. It has a double pile plan. The north-west front is two storeys high and consists of three bays. The central bay features a four-panelled door with an overlight, set within a plain timber doorcase and hood. To either side of the door are sash windows with 8/8 glazing bars, and above them are two similar sashes; a 6/6 sash is positioned above the door. All windows are topped with gauged skewback arches. A projecting soffit runs along the eaves with a simple triglyph motif. The roof is gabled with internal gable-end stacks; the front roof slope is clad in slate, while the remaining roof is covered in red pantiles. A greenhouse extension abuts the south-west return. A contemporary rear pile includes a hipped, two-storey, one-bay extension projecting south-east. The rear wall, to the left of the extension, contains an 8/8 sash window with a horn and a late 20th-century casement. The first floor has three 20th-century three-light casements. The north-east return has two 8/8 sash windows with gauged skewback arches and a 20th-century casement. The interior was not inspected.
