House, now public house. Late C17, altered and extended late C18 and mid C20. MATERIALS: red brick in Flemish bond, some timber frame with brick infill visible at rear. Old tile gabled roof with half hip and catslide at rear. PLAN: originally rectangular plan of 3 framed bays, 2-cell central stair plan extension at front, staircase relocated early C20. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys and One and a half storeys. One chimney on each end gable at front, one chimney on gable at rear, all with corniced heads and clay pots. Symmetrical road front to west has 3-bays, slightly offset to right. Dentilled brick cornice, late C18, 3-light casement windows with segmental brick heads, central window over door of 2-lights. C20 entrance door in C18 doorcase with moulded cornice, altered C20. Small C20 2-bay extension with flat roof on right. INTERIOR: some timber frame visible with queen post roof truss.
