Description

Warfield Hall is a large country house located in parkland, originally built in the early 19th century and later altered and extended in the late 19th century, with further changes in the early 20th century and extensive refurbishment in the late 20th century.

The house features painted render and low pitched slate roofs of varying heights behind parapets. It has a long rectangular plan with extensions on the east and south-west sides. The exterior consists of two and three storeys, adorned with several large chimneys that have corniced heads and clay pots. Notable architectural details include a plinth, plat band, moulded cornice, and plain parapet. The sash windows, which have glazing bars, are set in plain reveals and feature moulded architraves.

The entrance front faces east and has a main section that is three bays wide, with first-floor windows arranged in a Venetian style. There is a large rectangular Doric porte-cochere, likely added in the mid to late 20th century. On either side of the main section are four-bay sections with round-arched windows beneath bracketed cornices; the windows on the right side are blocked. To the left of the main section is a long projecting single-storey wing with a parapet of base balusters and a canted end, while a lower service wing is positioned to the left.

Inside, the drawing room on the north side features a decorative plaster ceiling embellished with festoons and garlands, along with a dentilled cornice. The fireplace is surrounded by Corinthian detailing and includes egg-and-dart ornamentation, with a dentilled and moulded cornice above.

Additionally, the road bridge and ice house located within the grounds of Warfield Hall are listed separately in the Binfield Parish on Forest Road.
