Description
South Lodge to Warfield Hall is an early 19th-century lodge located on the north side of Forest Road in Warfield. The building features a combination of painted render and painted brick at the rear, topped with a low-pitched slate roof that has pedimented gable ends. It has a T-shaped plan and is a single-storey structure. The exterior showcases wide rusticated quoins and a box cornice with a dentilled sub cornice at the angles of the walls.
A tripartite sash window at the front includes glazing bars, pilaster mullions, and jambs, with an entablature above. Above the window is a recessed panel displaying the motto "PEJUS LETHO FLAGITUM." The entrance door, located on the return from the road, consists of six flat panels within a moulded architrave, complete with a console bracketed cornice and a pediment. The interior has not been inspected.
