Description

Home Farmhouse is a farmhouse built in the late 18th century, with an extension added in the 19th century and alterations made in the 20th century. The building is constructed of painted brick in Flemish bond and features an old tile gabled roof, with the roof on the extension being lower.

The farmhouse has a rectangular plan consisting of two cells and a central staircase, along with a single bay extension on the east side. It stands two storeys tall and has two chimneys; the right chimney is offset and projects from the gable, while the left chimney, which was originally external, is now enclosed by the extension and has a corniced head with clay pots. The brick dentilled eaves are interrupted by first floor windows, which include some original 18th century casement windows with horizontal glazing bars, as well as similar replacements.

The entrance front is symmetrical, featuring three bays with three-light windows. The ground floor windows have segmental arched heads. There is a central enclosed hipped porch from the 20th century, which houses an 18th century six-panelled door, with the top four panels now glazed. The south front is similar but includes a hipped bay window on the left.

Inside, the farmhouse retains original wooden plank doors with strap hinges, an open well stair with stick balusters, and exposed tie beams on the first floor.
