Description
Sandhurst Farmhouse is a farmhouse, now a house, dating from the late 17th century, with alterations and extensions made in the 19th and 20th centuries. It is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond and features an old tile roof that is hipped on the left and gabled on the right.
The building has an L-shaped plan and stands two storeys tall. There is one large ridge chimney located to the left of the centre, which has a corniced head and clay pots, as well as a tall chimney at the rear. A platband is present at the first floor. The windows are 19th-century casement style with glazing bars; those on the ground floor have segmental heads. The southern entrance front has four-bay windows, originally three bays, with the right-hand bay being a later extension. There are two-light windows and a single-light window in the second bay from the left, above a 19th-century part-glazed door that is set in a 20th-century gabled porch. An old fire insurance plaque is located at the first floor to the right of the single-light window. The interior has not been inspected.
