Description
The war memorial located in Chapel Square at the Royal Military Academy in Sandhurst was created around 1920. It features a bronze sculpture depicting a group of three soldiers resting with their arms reversed, commemorating the soldiers of the 27th Division who lost their lives in World War I. This memorial is a replica of the original, which was sculpted by Lady Feodora Gleichen and is situated at Monchy le Preux in France. The bronze group is mounted on a stone cruciform base with a moulded plinth. The base bears the inscription: "To the Glory of God and In Proud Memory of All Other Ranks Who Gave Their Lives In Two World Wars 1914-18. 1939-45."
