Description
Lower Hall is a farmhouse dating from the late 17th century, with 18th century and later additions and alterations. It is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond and features a tiled roof. The building has two storeys and five bays, with an "L" shaped plan formed by a wing to the north. The quoins are accentuated by half-brick-deep projecting pilasters. On the ground floor, there are two window openings and one in the centre of the first floor that have been filled. The ground floor has modern replacement casements set under cambered brick arches, while the first floor features flat gauged arches. A 20th century brick porch with a pitched roof and a modern entrance door has been added. A brick band runs along the first floor. The main roof is covered with 20th century tiles, although some old tiles remain on the north wing. Inside, there are bevelled beams on both the ground and first floors, as well as an inglenook beam.
