Description
This is a mid-17th century timber-framed cottage located by Poole Nurseries. The cottage features timber framing with plastered brick nogged panels and rendered brickwork, topped with a thatched roof. It is a single storey with an attic and consists of two bays, sitting on a stone plinth. The front and rear timbers are in a small framing style, while the gables are made of rendered brickwork. The original two-light flush casements have been replaced with new windows that have leaded lattice glazing, set into the frame panels. There are first-floor windows in a gabled dormer and a gable, both adorned with barge boards. The front entrance has a boarded door that has been replaced with a four-panel door. A single gable stack is present. Inside, the cottage features chamfered beams, exposed joists, original chamfered purlins, a ridgetree, wind braces, and one collar truss.
