Description

The Cottage is a late 17th-century cottage constructed with a pebble dashed brick nogged timber frame and an added brick wing, topped with a slate roof. It stands two storeys high and features two bays. The entrance includes a boarded door with false strap hinges set within a lightweight trellis porch. The windows are two-light flush casements. The east gable showcases exposed timber framing with passing braces, sprockets, and spurs from the truss, indicating that the roof has been raised at the eaves. At the rear (south), the sandstone plinth and full timber frame are visible. The brick wing has been added to the west gable, which also features barge boards and gable end stacks. Inside, the cottage boasts bevelled beams and exposed ceiling joists.
