Description
The walls and gate piers to Newell Hall are 18th-century structures located on the north side of Warfield Street in Newell Green. They extend approximately 22 meters in length and stand about 1.8 meters high, running in a north-south direction. Constructed from red brick in Flemish bond, the walls feature a semi-circular brick capping.
At the south end, there are two panelled gate piers with weathered plinths, stone weathered caps, and stone flower basket finials. The entrance is flanked by C20 wrought iron gates. To the right of the entrance gates, the wall has been lowered to form a dwarf wall that is of no special interest. Beyond this, the wall continues nearly 2 meters high for 11 bays in an easterly direction, also topped with semicircular brick capping. The first two bays include two panelled pilasters with plinths and stone weathered caps.
