Description

The Old Farm is a hall house that has been converted into a large residence. It dates from the late 15th century, was extended in the 17th century, and underwent alterations and further extensions in the early 20th century. The building features a mix of materials, including part timber frame with weatherboard and tile hanging, part brick and render with false timbering. The roof is made of old tiles and plain tiles, with varying heights and several gables.

The structure has two storeys and is characterized by three large chimneys with clay pots, one of which was added in the 17th century. The windows are mainly 20th-century casements, mostly leaded, with some featuring lozenge-shaped leading. The entrance is on the south front and is irregular in design. To the left, there is a single bay weather-boarded gable with three-light windows. The first floor has one single light and two three-light windows. On the ground floor, there is a three-light square bay window and a 20th-century door with decorative glazing, both situated under a small hipped tile roof. To the right, there is a 20th-century three-light oriel window with small pent weathering. Further to the right, set back, is a large 20th-century extension with false timbering.

Inside, the 15th-century part features large timbers, including jowled posts, arch braces, and ties. In the 17th-century section, there are two original framed windows with diamond mullions, one with four lights and the other with six lights. These windows are now enclosed by the 20th-century extension and overlook the staircase and hall.
