Description

Cottrells is a cottage dating from around 1700, with alterations and extensions made in the 20th century. It is constructed of timber frame with brick infill and tile hanging, with a section of red brick in a Flemish bond pattern. The roof is tiled and gabled, with a catslide roof at the rear and open eaves. Originally having a rectangular plan of two framed bays, the building now has an L-shaped layout.

The cottage is one and a half storeys high and features a large brick chimney on the gable facing the road. It has 19th and 20th century casement windows. The front of the building shows some timber framing on the left section, along with a small gabled dormer breaking the eaves. A 20th century enclosed porch with a planked door is present, along with a two-light window in a slight projection. A brick extension projects from the right side of the building. The interior of the cottage was not inspected.
