Description
The Old Malt House is a house from the early 19th century that has been altered in the 20th century. It is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond and features a low-pitched, hipped slate roof with closed eaves. The building has an L-shaped plan and stands two storeys tall.
The exterior includes a projecting plinth and a painted stone platband at the first floor. It has sash windows with glazing bars and gauged brick arches. The entrance front is symmetrical with three bay windows. The main entrance features a 20th-century reproduction Georgian doorcase with a pair of glazed doors that have glazing bars. The main entrance door is now located on the return side of the building within a later enclosed porch, and it consists of a six-panel door set in a moulded stone architrave with a keystone.
The attached house, High Cedars, is not included in this listing.
