Description
Lynwood Cottage is an early 17th-century cottage, later altered and extended in the 19th and 20th centuries. Originally built of timber framing with painted brick infill, and under-built in painted brick, it has an old tile hipped roof. The cottage originally had a near-square plan of two framed bays, but has since been extended to the left and with larger additions to the rear. The rear chimney has a clay pot. The windows are 19th-century casements. The front (east) elevation has two three-light windows on the first floor and one three-light window on the ground floor, with a plain planked door within an enclosed porch with a pent roof. A pent roof extension to the left features a two-light window and a planked door sheltered by a pent hood supported on plain brackets. The interior has not been inspected.
