Description

Chantry Cottage is a late 16th-century cottage that has been altered and extended in the 19th and mid-20th centuries. It is constructed of timber frame with painted brick infill, and part painted brick, with an old tile gabled roof. The rectangular plan consists of two framed bays, with an extension of thin timbers on the left-hand side and a lean-to adjoining. A small extension is also present on the right. The cottage has two storeys. It features lead casement windows; the east-facing front is irregular in appearance, with one two-light window between two three-light windows on the first floor. A 20th-century plain entrance door is located to the left of the centre, set within a gabled porch. There is a three-light window to the left of the entrance, and two two-light windows on the right. The interior retains some visible timber framing.
