Description
The Alice Hawthorne is a house that has been converted into a public house. It dates from the late 18th century, with some additions made in the 20th century. The building is constructed of brick in Flemish bond and features a pantile roof. Originally, there was a central entry, but this has been changed to an entry in an additional bay on the left side. The structure is two storeys high and has three bays, with later additions. It has replacement 16-pane sash windows in flush frames, with the central window located where the former doorway used to be. There is a first-floor band, and the original 16-pane sash windows in flush frames interrupt the cogged eaves band. The left gable end is raised, and there are end stacks. The additions to the left, right, and rear of the building are not of special interest.
