Description

This is a late 18th-century farmhouse, likely with earlier origins. It is constructed of brick in English bond, with a pantile roof. The house follows a central-hallway plan and has two storeys and three bays. A four-panel door with an overlight is located under a segmental arch on the left side, with a 20th-century three-light casement window to the left of the door. The first floor has a dummy window in the centre, flanked by two-light Yorkshire sash windows. The gable ends have been rebuilt, with end stacks present. Inside, blocked windows found near the staircase suggest the original house may have contained a rear turret, which has since been incorporated into the building. Hand-cut cross beams and joists remain on the ground floor, alongside a brick-built bread oven in the sitting room. The roof is a common rafter design, pegged at the apex and featuring intermittent tie-beams.
