Description

This is an irregular terrace of three houses located on Whipps Cross Road, Leytonstone, dating from the mid to late 18th century. Number 157 has been substantially rebuilt to its front elevation. The houses are constructed of stock brick with red gauged window heads, and have tiled mansard roofs. They are two storeys in height with dormers. The front entrances are square headed and corniced, except for that of Number 157 which lacks a cornice; Number 155 has a hood over its entrance. All have six-panelled doors. The windows are square headed, and include sashes with glazing bars (margin glazing to Number 153). Number 155 features a two-storey canted bay window. The dormer windows have casements. The interiors remain uninspected.
