Description

These are a pair of houses dating from the early 18th century, with subsequent alterations. They are constructed of yellow London stock brick, with a tiled mansard roof to number 5 and a slated roof to number 6. The houses extend to two storeys with basements and have dormers. Each house has a facade of three windows. They feature moulded cornices below the parapets. Most of the recessed sash windows are small-paned, and have gauged flat arches above. Wood hoods shelter the entrances; number 6 has a cove moulding beneath its hood. Low forecourt walls are present at both properties. Number 5 has wooden railings and a gate, while number 6 has wrought-iron railings and an ornamental gate with side panels and an overthrow, set between brick piers with moulded stone caps; one pier includes a wrought-iron lampholder above. The interior of number 6 contains imported 16th-century carving and panelling.
