Description

The pedestal and statue of Venus and Cupid, located 50 yards north of Morden Cottage in Morden Hall Park, is an 18th-century statuary group made of Portland stone. The statue features a standing figure of Venus, who is depicted with her right foot raised as she ties her sandal, while Cupid stands beside her on the left. The square pedestal has a cornice and plinth, with its sides adorned with decorative panels that include pendant trophies, tassels, and quivers of arrows.
