Description
The Eastern block of Snuff Mills is a former snuff mill dating from around 1800 or earlier. The building features a brick ground floor and painted weatherboarding on the upper storey, topped with a steeply pitched slate roof that extends to the eaves. It stands two storeys tall and has a north facade that is four windows wide. The left bay includes double doors on both the ground and upper floors, while the windows are square-headed casements with glazing bars. To the right, there are two bays that contain a projecting single-storey segmental brick-roofed tobacco drying oven. An iron water wheel, which is attached to the west face of the building, is notable for having no paddles. This block is one of two adjacent structures located on either side of the mill race.
