Description
The Western Block of Snuff Mills, formerly known as Old Snuff Mills, is a former snuff mill dating from around 1800 or earlier. It features a brick construction with a steeply hipped slate roof that extends to the eaves. The building is two storeys high and has a west facade consisting of four bays. It includes flanked double doors at both the ground and first floors in the second bay from the right. The ground floor has segmental headed windows with horizontal sliding sashes of three lights, featuring small panes, while the upper floor has two-light plate glass windows. The returns of the building are similar in design. This block is one of two adjacent structures located on either side of the mill race.
