Description

This is a late 18th-century terrace of houses, numbered 7 to 21, located on the north side of Blackheath Park. The terrace is irregular in design, with each house originally featuring two windows. Numbers 7, 11, and 13 are two storeys high, number 17 has two storeys, an attic, and a basement, and numbers 9, 15, 19, and 21 are three storeys high and have a basement. The houses are built of multicoloured stock brick, with parapets concealing the roof on all but number 17, which has a slated mansard roof with dormers. Some of the houses exhibit sunk panels within their parapets. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars, set within stucco surrounds and beneath gauged brick arches. Some sash windows have been replaced. The ground-floor window openings are round-arched, while the basement windows are segmental arched. All the front doors have been altered or replaced, except for those at numbers 19 and 21, which retain their original form, although they now have four glazed panels out of a total of six. Cornice heads and fanlights are present above the doors of all but number 15. Numbers 9, 11, and 13 have fanlights with radial glazing bars. Numbers 7 to 27 (odd) and the coachhouse to the east of number 27 together form a group of buildings of group value.
