Description

This is an early 19th century terrace of six houses, numbered 33 to 43, located on the north side of Blackheath Park. Each house is three storeys high with a basement, and features two windows. The facades are stuccoed and topped with a parapet. Numbers 41 and 43 retain an original frieze, moulded cornice, and a first-floor cill string. The other houses have lost these features. The sash windows have glazing bars and plain reveals. A set of four or five steps, with wrought iron handrails, leads to the front doors, which are topped with cornice hoods and fanlights under round arches. Numbers 37, 41 and 43 have six-panel doors, with number 43 having a particularly ornate patterned fanlight. Number 33 has a two-storey, one-window extension to the left of the main facade, featuring an entablature surround to the door and a rectangular fanlight. Number 35 has a later slate mansard roof with a dormer window; the roofs of the other houses are hidden behind the parapet. Numbers 33 to 43, along with the Church of St Michael and All Angels, form a notable group.
