Primary school. 1949-50. Architects' Co-Partnership. Steel frame with precast concrete panels and coloured panel infill, built on Hills 8' 3" system as modified by Hertfordshire. Flat roofs. Single storeyed, with double-height assembly hall, entrance hall and administration at core and staggered classroom block to the east. Classrooms have large strip windows from ceiling almost to floor level, with opaque panels below. Metal window frames. Prominent eaves/cornice. Important mural by Fred Millett in assembly hall. Formerly called Oakland School.
