Description
Numbers 1 and 2 Church Farm School are two cottages built between 1887 and 1888 by C.G. Vinall, likely in collaboration with Philip Webb. They are constructed of Flemish bond brick and feature a hipped Welsh slate roof with a brick ridge stack. The cottages are one storey with an attic and have a four-window range. There is a segmental-arched entry to the door on the left, and above two square bay windows with upper transoms, there are flat-roofed dormers with glazing bars to the casement windows. The outer bays have 24-pane sash windows. The sides and rear wings are designed in a similar style. These cottages were built as part of an Industrial Boys Home established in 1860.
