Description
Nos 2A and 3 Church Farm School is a house that has been converted into two cottages. It was built in 1908 by Charles Nicholson and features pink brick with cement dressings. The building has a pitched tiled roof and stands two stories high with four bays. To the left, there is a lower two-storey bay, and to the right, there is a blind lower two-storey bay. The design reflects a simple Gothic Revival style.
The entrance, located in the second bay from the left, has a pointed arch, and the ground floor windows have pointed reveals, except for the left bay, which features a canted bay window. The upper floor has square-headed windows, each with a mullion and transom, small panes, and glazing bars. Decorative flush banding is present on the ground floor. The returns have stilted arched reveals for the upper windows and round-headed arched openings in the gables. The rear facade is also of architectural interest. This building was originally part of an Industrial Boys Home established in 1860.
