Description
The water tower at Church Farm School was built in 1912 by engineers J C Melliss, with architectural detailing by Charles Nicholson. It features brick and tile cladding over a reinforced concrete structure, topped with hipped plain tile roofs and a central brick stack. The tower is three stories tall and is flanked by lower two-story wings, each with one bay. Mid-20th century entries have been added to the ground floor. The windows are three-light casements with glazing bars, set beneath concrete lintels. The fourth stage of the tower is clad in tiles and has deep overhanging eaves. The interior has not been inspected. This water tower was constructed as part of an Industrial Boys Home established in 1860.
