Description

This is a group of six tombstones dedicated to the Grove family located in St Mary's Churchyard. The tombstones commemorate the following individuals: Rev Dr Francis White, who died in 1755; Miss Martha Grove, who died in 1794; John Grove, who died in 1861; John Grove, who died in 1819; Mrs Elizabeth Grove, who died in 1825; Mrs Martha Jaques, who died in 1849; Rev Samuel Grove, who died in 1769; Mrs Martha Grove, who died in 1789; and W P Ashurst, who died in 1773. All the stones are similar in design, featuring cherub head ornaments and each topped with an obelisk.
