Description

No. 43 Gloucester Square is a mid-19th century terrace building located on a corner site in the City of Westminster. It is constructed of brick and stucco and consists of four storeys, a basement, and an attic. The building features an irregular shape with a total of 13 bays, including a full-height three-window bow at No. 43.

Prominent Doric porches project from the façade, each containing double doors with overlights. Between the bow of No. 43 and the bow of the adjacent No. 21 Hyde Park Square, there is a two-storey porch that creates a symmetrical composition. On the first floor, there is an iron balcony, and the windows include casements, some with pediments and flanking pilasters, while the upper floors mainly feature sash windows with glazing bars. The building is topped with a dentil cornice and has iron railings at the basement level.
