Description

This is a row of houses located on Gloucester Terrace, with addresses extending to Westbourne Crescent. Built in the mid-19th century, the houses are constructed of stucco and stand three stories high, with an attic and basement. Each house has a frontage of two windows. The ground floor is treated with channelling. A continuous projecting porch, fluted in the Doric style and featuring triglyph friezes, extends across the entire ground floor width. Panelled doors are present, along with a continuous, bombé balcony on the first floor. The windows are square-headed, with architraves above the ground floor and cornices to the first floor. They are predominantly sash windows with plate glass, with French casements to the first floor facing Westbourne Crescent, which are metal framed. Number 28 features a full-height three-quarter corner bow window. The building has a console cornice above the third floor and a subsidiary cornice to the attic. Cast iron area railings are also present.
