Description

Nos 6, 7, and 8 Gloucester Circus is a mid-19th century terrace of three houses, each with three storeys, an attic, and a basement, featuring three windows. Number 8 is slightly set back from the others. The terrace has a tiled mansard roof with two square dormers and is constructed of multicoloured stock brick. Notable architectural features include a stucco frieze, cornice, and blocking course, along with scrolled console brackets supporting the cornice. The basements are also stuccoed.

The windows have gauged brick arches, with round arches on the ground floor and flat arches elsewhere. The second floor has sash windows with glazing bars, while the first floor features long, transomed casements with blind cases that open onto a full-width balcony, supported by stuccoed posts and wrought iron railings. The ground floor has sash windows as well. Access to the houses is via four steps leading to six-panel doors, where the middle panels are smaller. These doors have a cornice head and a plain fanlight, set beneath a stuccoed round arch with a keystone and impost blocks. The doors are framed by rusticated stucco patches on the wall, and there are cast iron spearhead area railings.

Nos 1 to 8 Gloucester Circus form a cohesive group.
