Description

Nos 27 and 29, including the front garden wall and gatepiers, form a terrace built around 1830. The buildings are constructed of brick and covered in stucco, with a concealed roof. They rise two storeys with an attic and a basement. The design features a prominent three-bay recessed centre flanked by two-bay projecting wings, which have composite angle pilasters and further recessed entrance bays on each side.

No 27 has a single-storey entrance bay, while No 29 has two low storeys. Steps lead up to a central projecting porch supported by Ionic pilasters. The entrance is pilastered with a moulded archivolt and keystone, featuring round-arched double doors. A dentil cornice runs along the top. No 27 has a four-panel door with an overlight set in an architrave, while No 29 has a pilastered porch with a cornice that connects to No 30. The entrance to No 29 includes a recessed four-panel door and overlight.

In the centre bay, there are sashes beneath pediments on consoles at ground floor level, with architraves above. The side bays of No 29 feature channelled stucco and first-floor sill bands, with sashes that have margin lights and some architraves. The dentilled cornice continues along the top. The attic of the centre bay has a triple group of round-arched sashes, flanked by pairs of similar windows on each side, separated by pilasters with consoles beneath a central segmental pediment. The side wings have later sashes or casements that pierce the parapet. The stucco garden wall is topped with railings and includes gatepiers.
