Description

13 and 14 Sillwood Road are terraced houses built in the early 19th century. They are constructed of stucco, with a roof that is obscured by a parapet. The buildings rise three storeys above a basement and feature a two-window range. No. 14 has a ground floor that is decorated with banded rustication, and both houses are flanked by pilasters topped with antefixae, which are now much decayed. The entrances are flat-arched and include overlights, while all windows are also flat-arched.

No. 13 features a single-storey bay on the ground floor, likely dating from the late 19th century, which has a cornice and a wooden balcony above. No. 14 has a segmental bay on the ground floor with tripartite windows, flanked by reeded pilasters and original design sashes. There is a verandah that spans the full width of the first floor, supported by cast-iron columns and railings, with cusped detailing on the canopy. Both houses have a cornice on consoles above the second-floor windows, along with a cornice and blocking course, and chimney stacks on the party walls. The interior has not been inspected.
