Description

The terraced houses at 10 and 11 Sillwood Place were built between 1827 and 1829 by Amon Henry Wilds. They are stucco-faced with a slate roof and stand four storeys high over a basement, with dormers visible in the roof. The properties have a three-window frontage. The ground floor is decorated with banded rustication and features a flat-arched entrance with an overlight and a panelled door of original design. All windows are flat-arched with architraves, except those within the attic storey. First-floor windows have pediments; those on the north window of number 10 and the south window of number 11 are segmental. Number 11 has individual balconies with stuccoed piers and a balustrade, while number 10 features replacement cast-iron railings. A cornice sits above the second floor, followed by a secondary cornice and a blocking course. Dormers are incorporated into the mansard roof, and there is an end stack on number 11. The interior was not inspected at the time of listing. These houses are noted for their group value.
