Description

This is a pair of early to mid-19th century houses with a front garden wall, located on Blomfield Road and Warwick Avenue. The houses are constructed of brick, rendered with stucco, and have a concealed roof. They are two storeys tall with an attic and a basement, and arranged with three bays. The houses feature angle pilasters.

The facade facing Blomfield Road has a central projecting Tuscan porch. The front door is made up of four panels with an overlight. A canted bay window is located on the right-hand side with plate glass sashes. The remaining windows are sash windows with margin lights within architraves, and a console-supported cornice to the ground floor. An egg and dart cornice runs across the first floor, above which are sash windows with glazing bars in the attic. Above the central bay is a further cornice and a central pediment resting on a panelled base with flanking volutes.

The facade facing Warwick Avenue is similar in design, but has a round-arched entrance and lacks the canted bay window.

The front garden wall is constructed of stucco, and is balustraded on the right-hand side with a gateway consisting of piers and a lintel. The group value of the buildings lies in their contribution to the character of the area.
