Description

Nos 50 and 52 Charlbert Road are a pair of houses built around 1870-1880. They are constructed from multi-coloured stock brick and feature a slate roof, giving them an institutional character. The main block is three stories tall and five windows wide, flanked by two-story wings that each have two windows. There is a three-window return facing Allitsen Road. The plain recessed segmental arched doorways are located on either side of the center. The windows are recessed glazing bar sashes set under segmental gauged red brick arches, with aprons beneath the sills. The building has sill and impost bands, deep flat eaves on the hipped roof, and a central chimney stack. Additionally, there is a drinking fountain set into the boundary wall of No 52.
