No. 21 Acacia Road is a detached villa built around 1830-1840 as part of the Portland Estate's St John's Wood villa development. The building features a stucco exterior with a channelled basement and a slate roof, showcasing an Italianate-Grecian style. It stands two storeys tall above a semi-basement and is three windows wide. There is a flight of steps on the left leading to an altered door framed by an architrave. The windows are recessed sashes with margin glazing, set in moulded architraves that have anthemion-enriched heads on the ground floor and valances on the first floor. The villa is adorned with an enriched order of pilasters that rise from a plat band over the semi-basement to a frieze beneath the elaborately bracketed eaves of the low-pitched hipped roof, which is flanked by corniced chimney stacks. The windows also have cast iron guards decorated with palmettes. To the left, there is a one-bay gig house wing that is set back. This villa type is similar to the adjoining Eyre Estate.
