Description
The Isaac Newton Public House is a public house dated 1892, located on a corner site in St John's Wood High Street, City of Westminster. It is constructed from red brick and buff terracotta, topped with a felted slate mansard roof. The building stands three storeys high and features three windows facing St John's Wood High Street, with a two-window return on the right side. The corner is splayed, and there are round-headed windows and doors on the ground and first floors. The upper floors have square-headed architrave windows. The ground floor windows are adorned with ogee dripmoulds, roll mouldings, and timber arched glazing bars with etched glass. There is a cornice above the ground floor, and the first floor windows have architraves, with mullioned and transomed windows that include arched sublights. The design includes mullions and transoms above, terracotta tracery, a cornice above the second floor, a parapet, gabled dormers, and tall corniced chimneys.
