Description
St John's Wood Studios is a building that dates from around 1830 to 1840 and was originally constructed as the Connaught Chapel, a Congregational church. The building features a stucco facade with brick sides and a slate roof. It has a portico at the front and stands two stories tall, measuring five bays wide. The central entrance is a semicircular arched doorway with a keystone and a radial patterned fanlight above it. The portico is supported by giant Corinthian columns, with pilastered flanking bays. An entablature and pediment sit atop the portico, which is crowned by a large square pedestal. The side elevation has been altered. This building is included in the heritage listing for its group value.
