Description
No. 2 Tilney Street is a terraced house built around 1740 by Edward Shepherd, with early to mid 19th century alterations. The building features a stucco faced brick exterior and a slate roof. It has four storeys and a basement, and is three windows wide. The entrance is located on the right side, featuring a recessed square-headed doorway with an architrave case, a six-panel door, and a fanlight above. The recessed sash windows do not have glazing bars; the windows on the first and second floors are set in a canted bay, topped with a cornice supported by Corinthian columns, likely added around 1900. The third floor has plain windows, and there is a parapet with coping. The property is enclosed by cast iron area railings.
