Description

No. 81 South Audley Street is a terraced house built in the mid to late 18th century, with early to mid 19th century alterations. The building is faced with stucco and has a slate roof. It stands five storeys high, plus a basement, and is three windows wide. The ground floor features channelled detailing, with a semicircular arched doorway on the left that includes a six-panel door and a radial glazed fanlight. To the right, there are two recessed sash windows with channelling struck to flat arches.

The upper floors are dominated by a full-height canted bay supported by Corinthian columns. The first-floor sash windows are framed by fluted pilasters with pediments, while the second floor has architraves with cornices. The third floor features eared architraves, and the top floor has semicircular arched keystone windows. The building is topped with a crowning cornice that has coupled brackets, and there are wrought iron area railings.
